"We are like dwarfs sitting on the shoulders of giants. If we see further than the latter, it is not because of the insight of our eyes, nor because of our greatness, it is because we are carried and elevated by them." Bernard of Chartres, 12th century master.

Relying on the know-how and spirit of the medieval Master illuminators to better innovate is the approach that accompanies each of my creations. To build a bridge between Tradition and Creation. Indeed, for illumination to remain a living art craft destined to flourish and develop, the illuminator must dare to create ; dare to go towards unexplored forms and unexpected materials ; dare to take a fresh look at this age-old discipline and dare to shake up its codes and conventions.

But this is not a rupture. On the contrary, it is a question of taking over from those who have gone before me, carrying it a little further along the path and passing it on to those who will follow me. Remembering at every step that the heart of this transmission lies in the very etymology of the word "illuminate", which comes from the Latin illuminare, and means "to illuminate, to make luminous".

Each of the creations presented here is made with gold leaf, on handmade paper, using high quality pigments, gum arabic and honey.
