I find in the making and use of colours, this fundamental desire to bring out the light in my work. Thus, the colours of my palette, like precious stones with bright and vivid hues, offer a light like no other. My aspiration is to find the blaze of unique gems in each of my works in order to better transform the material into light. I am thinking here of the poetic description of the heavenly Jerusalem, the city of light by excellence ; light born of the shimmering and sparkling of the many gems that make it up :
"The material of the wall is jasper, and the city is pure gold, transparent purity. The foundations of the city wall are adorned with all kinds of precious stones. The first foundation is of jasper, the second of sapphire, the third of chalcedony, the fourth of emerald, the fifth of sardius, the sixth of carnelian, the seventh of chrysolite, the eighth of beryl, the ninth of topaz, the tenth of chrysoprase, the eleventh of hyacinth, the twelfth of amethyst. The twelve gates are twelve pearls, each gate made of a single pearl; the square of the city is pure gold of perfect transparency". Apocalypse 21,18-21.
